Burlap & Green- A Vintage Chair

Tonight I bring you...another chair makeover.

I wish there were cute vintage dressers floating around my neck of the woods like there are chairs. Until that day comes, please enjoy another chair story.

Here she is...nothing extravagant. You may notice her twin from the post I did on the vintage blue chair. Having two of them I knew I didn't want them to match, I like unique and different accent chairs.

Lately I've been feeling the green vibe! I most definitely do not have a green thumb- but green paint, why yes I do own some!

Here she is looking fresh after her two coats of green paint.

After this she was distressed and coated in a dark wax to add depth and age.

I covered the seat in a burlap and made a custom stencil to paint on some cute vintage graphics.

I am so happy I chose green! I think it suits this chair perfectly and turns what was supposed to be a modern chair into something that lived in grandmas house.

  2. I love it! I especially love the distressing. It doesn't look like sandpaper distressing to me...what did you use? Love the dark wax too. Still trying to work up enough nerve to try this...I have A LOT of items to repurpose!

    1. Thank you for your comment AnnMarie! I distressed it with my electric palm sander. The sandpaper wasnt overly coarse so I was able to control how much came off. I hope you get to do some of your repurposing!

  5. I am in love with your chair- the lines, the refinish, the graphic.

I just moved an old chair up to the attic, but it might just be coming back downstairs for a redo.
