Who could say such a thing??

I had gone to a yard sale (I know your surprised right?)Well right before I left I asked the lady how much for the rocking chair tucked behind her. She said ONE DOLLAR..take a moment...breath that in! She then goes on to say...."My husband was going to BURN IT
I quietly cried inside at the thought of this poor little rocker turning into ashes! Then I did an internal happy dance because I was SAVING IT!! Oh that feeling of rescuing an unwanted piece of furniture is bliss! You fellow DIYers know what I mean!

I have a 15 month old and knew I wanted to makeover this little chair just for her! So Pink it would be!

I Sewed up a quick pillow to use as a seat cushion...

Or back rest and it was ready to be loved!

Ugly Dated Hutch to Pretty Dated Hutch!!

I recently went out of town and picked up this great hutch on my way home!! Here is the bottom half:
And here is the top....eighties I mean Pretty!
I had a vision in mind, thanks to some great blog searching!

I knew I wanted to do a great antique finish on those legs!! You can say it...there sexy!
And I knew I wanted to incorporate this gorgeous blue color everyone is raving about!! (Ok I love this color too) I also added brand new hardware and clear coated it twice just to be sure it stands the test of time!

Put it all together and what have you got...bippity..boppity...boo!

 A great antique hutch!

Purple Stool

This little stool came across my path one day and I am so glad it did!! It was so cute to begin with but I knew if it were jazzed up a little it would look stunning!

So with paint brush in hand (I swear its glued to me somedays) I went to work! Adding a gorgeous deep purple and a little bit of aging. Then after sealing the stool so my paint job was secure this little stool has a bright future ahead of her!

Just the perfect size for little bums!

I love the aged purple!!

Step On Up

This little stool had been worn in all the wrong ways! It was time for a face lift.

It had beautiful detail so I thought what better color for this then girly colors!

With some its new darling color and some hand painted numbers this beauty is ready for the bathroom wash station! It is filled with antique chicness!

Or even great for picking out her own outfit in her closet!

Too cute for words!

Time Out!!

I had come across this Captain's Chair in my travels! It had such great character and structure! I had a friend looking for a Time Out Chair for her little girl and when I spotted this gem I knew it was just the perfect piece for the job!

After a few coats of pink paint and some finishing sealant along with some hand painted words this chair is ready for some Time Outs!

(the arm is covering the 'E')

A quick snap of the before and after one more time!

Hello 90's

Just before I moved, there was a man on my street getting rid of a bunch of items for FREE! I had an idea of what I wanted the decor in the new house to look like and I thought surely I could turn these lamps into something....couldn't I? Well it was worth a shot!

To make matters more perfect I was actually on the way to get these FREE lamp shades when I spotted those FREE lamps!! Tell me that wasn't meant to be...I know right...that never happens!

After Priming the lamps and giving them a good coat or two of Aqua I also painted the lamp shades!! Your mind was just blown wasn't it! Who knew it was even possible?? Not I! They were free and I thought hey I have nothing to loose!

The black was great but they lacked a little something! So I drew up a quick stencil and cut it out. Then I sprayed over my shades with the blue!

Now they are simply perfect!!

P.S. - Don't mind the napkin...I was so excited to see them in the room that I had to sit them on a napkin for fear of the paint not being 100% cure and going on my night stands.....then we'd have another project on our hands bummer and we wouldn't want that would we :)

Dynamic Duo

Here we have two very dated and very 80's chairs!

However they did boast very nice detail!

And here they are with their new dud's! A fresh coat of paint and primer and some new material!

Now thats a Dynamic Duo!

Pretty In Pink

Here is a little sneak peak of a project I have just completed for my daughter's play room! I was given this little night stand for free! Thats always a good start!

I first started by removing the hardware, sanding and priming. Then added a new coat of paint and some new hardware

It is going to come in handy for keeping the play room tidy!

Destined For The Dump!

I am super excited about this Re-Purpose!! I found this sweet innocent chair ready to be trashed!!

No I didn't go diving in dumpsters just in case you think I'm gone mad! Well the moment I spotted it I knew I just had to save it!!

After bleaching out the cushion and giving the frame a few coats of paint it really started to shape up!

Add in some new throw pillows and this darling chair is now a great accent piece in my guest room!!

Love Love Love it!!! I'm sure in the future when I find the perfect fabric the cushion will be recovered but for now it still looks great!
